Getting Started
A step-by-step walkthrough for your first session with the Hyperliquid app.
Navigate to the Dashboard
- Log in at airavat.xyz
- Click Hyperliquid in the left sidebar
- You’ll land on the Activity tab by default
The dashboard has seven tabs across the top: Activity, Traders, Assets, Explore, Filters, Pods, and AI Analysis. Each tab’s state (search query, sort order, pagination, active filters) is persisted in the URL, so you can bookmark any view or share it.
Step 1: Find Interesting Traders
On the Traders tab:
- Browse the table. It’s sorted by PnL (highest profit) by default.
- Click any column header to re-sort (e.g., click Trader Score to find consistently strong traders, or Funding α to find shorts that are being paid to hold)
- Use the search bar to find a specific trader by name or wallet address
- Click a trader row to open their full profile with live positions and trade history
Step 2: Explore Assets
Switch to the Assets tab:
- Perp assets are listed with price, 24-hour change, volume, open interest, funding rate, and max leverage
- Assets are sorted by 24-hour volume by default; click any column header to re-sort
- Search by coin name (e.g.,
BTC,ETH) - Click an asset row to open its detail page with live price data and funding details
- Look at the Funding Rate column — it shows the hourly rate as a percent (e.g.
+0.0013%), not an annualized figure. Positive funding means longs pay shorts; negative funding means shorts pay longs.
Funding is settled hourly; the Assets surfaces show the hourly rate as a percent. The Filter Builder’s funding criterion is the one place you enter it as an annualized APR. See Overview — Funding Rate.
Step 3: Create a Filter
Go to the Filters tab and click the + button. See the Filters guide for a complete walkthrough of every field.
Quick example, “Profitable, well-managed traders”:
- Under Trader Criteria, set PnL min to
10000and $-Weighted Win Rate min to55 - Under Trader Criteria, set Max Drawdown max to
30to skip traders with large drawdowns - Name it “Profitable Low-Drawdown Traders”
- As you set criteria, a live estimate banner at the bottom of the builder updates automatically (debounced ~half a second) to show how many active traders and assets currently match. Read it to sanity-check the match size, then click Create Filter
Step 4: Set Up an Alert
Go to the Pods tab and click the + button:
- Select Email Alert as the pod type
- Enter your email address and set the email throttle — choose a Per hour (default 3, range 1 to 144) or Per day (default 3, range 1 to 144) window at creation.
- Pick the filter you just created
- Click Create
You’ll now be emailed when trades matching your filter occur, and every match also lands in the app’s Activity tab notification center. See the Pods guide for all pod types, including paper copy trading and paper discretionary pods.
Step 5: Run It on Paper
Once your filter behaves on alerts, the honest measurement is paper copy trading — simulated trades with full PnL tracking and no capital at risk. See the Quick Start: Paper Trading playbook for the full filter → paper pod → analytics → whitelist/blacklist iteration loop (about ten minutes to get a paper pod running).
You can also generate an on-demand AI Analysis for any trader or asset from its detail page — see AI Analysis.
Distribution analysis (bucketed views and criteria-based discovery) is available within the Traders and Assets tabs via the Explore tab. See Traders: Advanced Mode.
Build your first filter
Knowing the dashboard is half the work. The other half is configuring it for the trades you actually care about.
A filter can take one of four canonical shapes, depending on whether you trust specific traders, attribute thresholds, or specific assets:
- Multi-Trader Whitelist: handpick the traders you want to follow
- Cohort Filter: define the population by attribute thresholds
- Hybrid: cohort plus handpicked overrides; where most users land after a few weeks of iteration
- Asset Specialist: restrict to one or two perp coins where you have a view (e.g., only BTC and ETH funding strategies)
Next: see Filter Setups to pick a shape and build it step-by-step. Then run it on paper. The Paper Trading Quick Start walks through the iteration loop.
